Not long after we founded this group, I had an idea to produce “pen portraits” of all the different types of cyclist that are out there, so we could enforce the message that cycling is for everyone, and to move us away from the image of the lycra clad male racing bike rider.

It seems that someone has done exactly that, and with a lot more skill and artistry than I would have managed!

Becky Mursell produced a beautiful series of photographs of a wide spectrum of cyclists that were on show at Osterley Park as part of the West London Cycling Mela (mela is an Indian word roughly translating to fair or festival). She has called the project The Everyday Cyclist.
