Brunel University students now have access to eBikes thanks to a partnership between the university and the German company Dott.

Students, staff and visitors to Brunel are able to hire a bike to travel between designated parking areas on campus and the transport hubs of Uxbridge and West Drayton. Two parking areas in West Drayton are located on the High Street rather than outside the station itself which is a shame as there appears to be plenty of space available.

Hillingdon is currently the only place in London where you can hire a bike from Dott, as the company withdrew from the city in 2023. The company also operates in other parts of the UK including Bath, Bristol, Nottingham and Colchester.

The previous scheme, which has now expired, was operated in partnership with Santander and also featured a docking area at Hillingdon Hospital. This does not appear in the Dott app so may no longer be a viable destination. However the Brunel Sports Park is a short walk away just off Kingston Lane.

To encourage students to discover the benefits of getting around by bike, members of Cycling Hillingdon are organising a ride on February the 11th that leaves campus at 1.30 and takes participants to Uxbridge and West Drayton.

See the events page of the LCC website for details and a chance to book a place on the ride.

There are several parking areas on campus, the one outside the Student Hub is where our ride will start and end
