Something we have been meaning to do for a long time has been taken up and delivered by local cyclist Anthony, who we’re sure you’ll agree has done a fantastic job with the visual design of our new business cards which we intend to hand out to cyclists we meet whilst out and about in Hillingdon.

During this fledgling stage of building up the group as a voice for local cyclists, our main focus is to add people to our mailing list so we have some clout with decision makers. You can really help us by forwarding our email newsletter to cyclists you know and asking them to sign up. You can also help if you’re out and about by handing fellow cyclists one of these business cards, for example if you happen to be locking up your bike outside a shop or cafe.

We debated in previous meetings what would be the best way to do this, one suggestion was to hang flyers on parked bikes, but were advised against it because if they ended up on the floor we could be liable for fly-tipping. Handing over a business card was agreed to be an effective way of exchanging details since it involves a conversation and consent from the person receiving it, who can take their time to study our website before deciding to join the mailing list or not.

If you’d like some of these business cards to hand out, please get in touch by email and we can arrange to get them to you.

Thanks again to Anthony (he even paid for the first batch out of his own pocket) – you’re a star!
