A couple of us attended the Ealing LCC ride to Kingston on Sunday 7th December. Ealing LCC organise regular monthly rides and our ride leader, Helen, took us on a well planned and interesting ride starting from Ealing Town Hall. Experienced marshals Murray and Cici did a superb job in keeping us safe and moving.

Heading through quiet backstreets in South Ealing, we soon crossed into Brentford at Clayponds Lane. We then cycled a portion of the wonderful new cycleway C9 through Brentford High Street, and rather than cross at Kew Bridge, stayed north of the Thames through the Strand on the Green and crossed instead at Chiswick Bridge.

Continuing through Mortlake and East Sheen, we entered Richmond Great Park and cycled alongside the multitude of runners, walkers, horse riders and fellow cyclists. From the King’s Road exit, it was a short journey to Kingston where the Christmas market was in full swing amongst the many wonderful old buildings that still exist in Kingston town centre.

One of our fellow riders asked us to let you know of a petition to improve the cycle path on the A4 which is in disrepair. The petition is here.

Ealing generally organise at least one ride a month and if you’d like to join a future one, look out on the LCC events page for details. Our thanks to everyone at Ealing Cycling Campaign for the ride and all their good work over the years.
